What's really getting in the way of your leaders?

Sometimes it's a difficult conversation that never happens. Sometimes it's a team that can't move forward, or a capable leader quietly running on empty.

We work with individuals, teams and organisations to understand what's happening beneath the surface. Through our human-centred coaching methodology, we develop leaders from the inside out, helping them change how they respond, connect and lead.

Where does your organisation need to make a change?

Every organisation faces different challenges. Sometimes it's a leader struggling under pressure. Sometimes it's a team avoiding difficult conversations, or a development programme that isn't changing what happens back at work.

We start by understanding what's happening and what your people need.

Who's supporting the leader everyone else depends on?

Some leaders become very good at appearing to have everything under control. They're still delivering, but the effort is taking more out of them than anyone sees. Others may struggle with confidence, avoid difficult conversations or become controlling when pressure builds.

Our 1:1 coaching provides a private space to explore what's really happening, while working through the decisions, relationships and challenges the leader is facing today.

Starting with Core: the person behind the leader

Core is the foundation of our Core, Connection and Collective approach. It focuses on the relationship leaders have with themselves: their self-trust, self-value, beliefs and the experiences that shape how they respond to other people and to pressure.

A leader who is constantly questioning themselves, trying to please everyone or afraid of getting something wrong can spend much of their day caught up in their own head. We help them understand and work through those patterns, creating more capacity to make decisions, have honest conversations and give their people the attention they need.

Our Pretender Masks Model® helps leaders recognise the protective behaviours they have learned over time, such as perfectionism, people-pleasing or needing to stay in control. We explore what sits beneath those behaviours and how they affect the way someone leads, helping them develop the self-trust to respond differently.

We also use The GC Index® to explore where a leader naturally puts their energy and how they are inclined to contribute. This gives us a practical starting point for conversations about their role, the contribution they want to make and how they work with people whose approach differs from their own.

As leaders become more secure in themselves, we work with them to bring that change into their relationships and their wider team. Core connects directly to Connection and Collective through the everyday experience of being led by that person.

This includes senior leaders navigating scrutiny and accountability in complex or regulated environments, where the pressure to appear capable can make honest reflection particularly difficult.

A relationship built on trust

Private coaching conversations aren't a reporting channel for HR or line managers. We agree objectives, progress reviews, what can be shared and any limits to confidentiality from the outset, protecting the coaching relationship while providing clarity for the organisation.

When everyone knows there's a problem, but nobody wants to say it

A team can have plenty of talent and still struggle to work together. People agree in meetings, then express their frustrations afterwards, while the same conflicts keep resurfacing and everyone spends more energy navigating each other than getting on with the work.

Our team coaching works across three connected areas: Core, Connection and Collective. We look at the person, the relationships between people and how the team functions as a whole, because each influences the others.

Core: understanding what each person brings

We work individually with team members to understand who they are at their best, what happens under pressure and what gets in their way. Using our Pretender Masks Model®, we explore protective patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism and control, helping people recognise how these affect their contribution and their colleagues.

Working at Core changes what becomes possible when the team comes together. As people develop greater self-trust, there is less need to appear faultless, say the expected thing or go through the motions of another team exercise. They become more able to acknowledge their own part in a problem and hear someone else's perspective without immediately needing to defend themselves.

Connection: getting to the conversations that move things forward

With that individual work underway, we can get to the deeper conversations more quickly. We help people bring unresolved conflicts into the open, examine the assumptions they have made about each other and understand the effect of their behaviour on their relationships.

The team can begin to work through what has been holding them back, with more willingness to challenge each other, ask for help and say what they actually think. Trust develops through the experience of having those conversations and seeing how colleagues respond.

Collective: putting the team's capacity to work

At Collective, we coach the team as it works together, exploring how it makes decisions, shares responsibility and uses the contribution of each person to deliver what the organisation needs.

We use The GC Index® individual and team profiles to understand where people naturally have energy to contribute and how that energy is balanced across the team. Alongside their skills and experience, this helps us explore whether people are in roles where they can contribute fully, where capacity is being underused and where the team needs a different balance.

Working across all three means the team has both the personal capacity and the relationships to follow through on what it agrees. Less energy is taken up with protecting reputations, managing tensions or revisiting conversations that never resolved anything, leaving more available for making decisions and doing the work together.

A team in a coaching conversation

Knowing how to lead doesn't mean it's easy to do

A leader might know exactly how to give feedback, yet still avoid the conversation, or understand the importance of delegation while struggling to let go. When pressure builds, the beliefs and habits they have carried for years can take over, however much leadership training they have completed.

Our leadership development programmes combine practical leadership and coaching skills with work on the person applying them. We help leaders understand what drives their behaviour, develop greater self-trust and work through the patterns that make it difficult to put their learning into practice.

Developed in partnership with your organisation

We work with you to create programmes that meet the needs of your organisation and the people within it. That starts with understanding what your leaders are facing, what you need from them and what you want to see change in the way they lead.

We shape the content, format and pace around those needs, bringing together facilitated learning, coaching, reflection and opportunities to practise with real situations from the workplace. Leaders work on the conversations, decisions and relationships they are already navigating, so the development becomes part of their day-to-day work.

Our programmes range from Rising Real for emerging leaders to executive leadership retreats, supporting people as they take on their first leadership responsibilities and as they navigate the demands of senior roles. We create space for them to examine how they lead, what their people experience and where a different approach could make a difference.

Developing human-centric leaders

Our Core, Connection and Collective approach runs through this work. Leaders explore their relationship with themselves, how they connect with others and the influence they have on their teams and the wider organisation.

The Pretender Masks Model® helps them recognise protective behaviours that can shape their leadership, while The GC Index® helps them understand where they naturally have energy to contribute and how to recognise and draw on the different contributions of others.

Alongside this, leaders develop the coaching skills to listen properly, ask useful questions and help people think for themselves. As they become more secure in their own leadership, they can give others more room to contribute, address difficult issues earlier and support their teams without feeling they have to carry every answer.

Leaders in a leadership development session

Helping people understand what's behind the way they lead

A workshop or keynote can give someone words for something they have struggled with for years. They might recognise why they keep saying yes when they're already overwhelmed, why being challenged feels so uncomfortable or how much energy goes into appearing to have everything under control.

Our workshops and keynotes help people explore these experiences and understand how they affect their leadership, their relationships and the people around them. We work with you to shape sessions around what is happening in your organisation and what you want your people to take away.

Unmasked: building understanding over time

Our Unmasked programme is a series of 90-minute workshops, each building on the last to help leaders understand themselves at a deeper level and recognise their impact on others.

Delivered by our trained facilitators, the programme gives people time between sessions to notice their patterns in everyday situations and put what they are learning into practice. As their understanding develops, they can begin to work through the behaviours that get in their way and make more conscious choices about how they lead.

Half-day and full-day workshops

Our workshops provide time to explore particular challenges in more depth, including the Pretender Masks Model®, self-trust and managing the messy middle of transition and change.

Through discussion, reflection and practical work, people examine their own experiences and consider how they respond when things feel uncertain or difficult. We connect that understanding to the situations they face at work, helping them approach conversations, relationships and change with greater confidence.

Keynotes with Angela Cox

Angela brings The Silent Middle® and the Pretender Masks Model® to life through keynotes that draw on her experience as a senior leader, coach and creator of the Paseda360 method.

She explores the internal struggles that often sit behind outward success, helping people recognise the pressure to prove themselves, the masks they wear and the personal cost of keeping them in place. These talks can create a profound moment of recognition, giving people a new understanding of themselves and a different perspective on the behaviour of those around them.

Whether for a leadership event, an organisation-wide conference or a smaller gathering, Angela works with you to make the keynote relevant to your audience and the challenges they are facing.

We develop the human behind the leader, not just their skills

The way we lead is shaped by far more than the skills we've learnt. Our values, experiences, self-belief and protective patterns all influence how we behave, especially when the pressure is on.

PasedaLeader brings together coaching, psychology and human development to explore what's happening beneath the surface. We help leaders understand why they respond as they do, recognise the impact of their behaviour and develop greater freedom to choose a different response.

Why PasedaLeader
A coach in a green blazer talking during a coaching conversation

What matters to us, matters to your people

Trust makes honest change possible.

If a leader has to watch what they say to their coach, how much can really change? We protect the privacy of 1:1 coaching while agreeing clear objectives and appropriate progress reviews with the organisation.

Understanding behaviour doesn't mean excusing it.

Recognising why someone becomes controlling, critical or defensive is a starting point. We help leaders take responsibility for their impact and develop more constructive ways of responding.

Being dependable doesn't mean being fine.

Organisations can mistake someone's willingness to keep going for evidence they can take on more. We look beneath performance, recognising both individual patterns and the organisational pressures that need addressing.

Meet our people

Helping leaders grow as the business changes

“We found the Paseda coaching model to challenge the norm of what people would normally go through. Allowing leaders to understand themselves as well as deeply reflecting on the impact they can have on a business is in my opinion a much more productive use of leaders' time.

Our leadership team has had to grow and develop quickly as the business has undergone significant change over recent years. Paseda allowed the team to focus on what they needed to do as individuals outside of the business BAU by creating a greater understanding of themselves and help build on the strengths whilst directly addressing things that impact people operating at their best.

We have seen real positive change in confidence, challenge, and collaboration all of which I believe we can attribute directly to the Paseda Coaching Model.”
